"Tagetes erecta" - Annual-Full sun in well draining soil.
Marigold Pom Pom, Lemon Drop or Incas. Growing marigolds or French marigolds around vegetable gardens to repel harmful insects or rabbits is a gardening habit that goes back for centuries. The scent of marigolds is said to deter these pests. Marigolds are easy-to-grow throughout South Africa. They thrive in hot climates and will adapt to most garden soils, but prefer lightly composted, well-drained soil and full sun. Very rich soil will result in lots of leaves and fewer flowers. Water them regularly but do not overwater.
