"Allium schoenoprasum" 

Chives are members of the Allium family, along with garlic, leeks, onions, scallions and shallots, but with a mild onion flavour. Garnish the salad with chopped fresh chives.

Partial to full sun. Plant 20-30 cm apart for best results in planter boxes or the ground depending on the herb variety. Water the soil only, not the plant.
