Alyssum maritimum, also sweet alyssum is a species of low-growing flowering plant. Alyssum plants prefer full to partial sun and can tolerate dry soil conditions. However, for best results, they require moderate watering and well-drained and composted soil that is not too rich in nitrogen. Full sun gives the best flowers although light shade still gives good results. Grow at border edges, in pots and window boxes, on banks, rockeries, or at the edges of vegetable beds.
